St. Joseph's Day

Happy Feast of St. Joseph! It has always struck me that this Feast is another kind of Father's Day. After all, when Jesus addresses God in the gospels, He calls the Father "Abba" - the same term that He would have used in addressing His adoptive father, Joseph. What better testimony to the goodness and love of Joseph than that testimony from his beloved Jesus. On this year's feast, so many of us around the world feel so very vulnerable and we look to St. Joseph for reassurance, strength, and consolation.

"O Saint Joseph, I never weary contemplating you and Jesus asleep in your arms; I dare not approach while He reposes near your heart. Press Him in my name and kiss his fine head for me and ask him to return the Kiss when I draw my dying breath."
